Our Farm – 300 stunning acres overlooking Byron Bay

Cape Byron Farm is a beautiful 300-acre farm at Hayters Hill – on the escarpment overlooking Byron Bay.  Half-way between Byron Bay & Bangalow village, the farm has incredible views of the Northern Rivers coastline, Mt Warning, & the Byron hinterland.

Hayters Hill was first settled for dairy farming by Eli Hayter in 1881, and has been in the Hayter family ever since. Today, the property is primarily used for cattle grazing, cottage accommodation & rainforest conservation.

This property is unique, as:

  • It contains heritage-listed rainforest of National significance.
  • Over 70 different bird species live in the rainforest gullies & groves.
  • The extent of rainforest has more than doubled over the past 20 years from large-scale regeneration efforts.
  • It has a magnificent lake and meandering waterways that are part of the headwaters of Byron Creek. These waterways provide important habitat for water birds, frogs and platypuses.

All family members living on the farm are passionate about sustainable farming and conserving this special natural environment.
